So, when Joe Biden said that his goal was to have most schools reopened within his first 100 days, what did you take that to mean?
For me, it was that a significant majority of schools would be opened full-time for in-person learning, but that is not the definition being given by the White House.
Set the Bar Low, Joe
Joe Biden has been very consistent in setting goals that are more or less already obtained during the first three weeks of his term.
When Joe Biden stated that he wanted to hit 100 million vaccinations within his first 100 days, we were already on a pace to hit 150 million.
When Biden realized that, he upped his goal to… well, 150 million.
Biden is playing the same game with reopening schools.
When Biden promised parents he would be trying to get most schools reopened within his first 100 days, most parents took that to mean the majority of schools would be opened and they would be opened full time.
Right now, many schools around the country are doing hybrid learning of one or two days of in-person learning with remote learning.
There are plenty of variations on this, which include half-day sessions to space out the children and keep the classrooms less full.
When Biden’s press secretary was put on the spot about this, she clarified exactly what Joe Biden will consider a checkmark on this particular promise…
White House: Our goal is to have 50 percent of schools open by April 30, 2021 — “at least one day per week” pic.twitter.com/7VNpG9i0Sx
— Tom Elliott (@tomselliott) February 9, 2021
You heard that right… if more than 50 percent of the schools are open for at least one day on in-person learning, Joe gets the checkmark.
As mentioned above, this is a pretty low bar considering where schools are currently sitting.
Joe Biden is pulling a fast one on the American people, making it appear as though he accomplishing something when he might as well be back at home in Delaware in his basement.
As Brit Hume recently stated, give us a call when you are doing something that is not already being done!
