Trump Wins First PA Election Lawsuit

President Trump and his hopes of winning a second term are still alive, largely due to a court decision in Pennsylvania.

The Trump campaign has won the first step in its battle to have what it claims are invalid ballots removed from the count.

The case centers around the order by the PA Secretary of State, Kathy Boockvar, who took it upon herself to change the deadline for proof of ID for those casting ballots without proper ID only two days before the election.

Judge Mary Hannah Leavitt, who is an elected judge, stated,  “[T]he Court concludes that Respondent Kathy Boockvar, in her official capacity as Secretary of the Commonwealth, lacked statutory authority to issue the November 1, 2020, guidance to Respondents County Boards of Elections insofar as that guidance purported to change the deadline … for certain electors to verify proof of identification.”

This means all ballots cast that were not ID verified by November 9 must now be removed from the count.

This case will likely be appealed and wind up before the Supreme Court, but it is a good start for Trump.
