The NBA is in the midst of a severe ratings issue.
There is one thing when you see down viewership due to a competitive TV schedule, but this goes well beyond that.
With the Lakers and LeBron James in the finals, a sports-craved world should be tuned in with record numbers watching, but that is not the case.
The NBA has struggled to get viewers while playing the bubble, but Finals numbers are reportedly down more than 60 percent from previous years.
The NBA is taking the biggest hit all of all major sports and many believe it is because of the saturation of politics into the league.
Senator Cruz recently pointed this out, which resulted in he and Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban getting into a Twitter battle…
I love @HoustonRockets & have rooted for them my entire life. I happily cheer for the Spurs & Mavericks against any non-TX team.
But @mcuban the NBA is engaged in a concerted effort to (1) insult their fans & (2) turn every game into a left-wing political lecture. That’s dumb. https://t.co/uKSgvPhEcq

You are so full of shit. You haven't watched a game of the finals, how would you know what is being said or done? Since when is a desire to end racism an insult to anyone or political? And you don't think using #GetWokeGoBroke is a partisan insult? Again, this is who you are. https://t.co/uKfHGV7IGc

I will let you decide who won this round.
