There was a hope that if Republicans could maintain control of the Senate, they could block any outlandish appointments by Joe Biden.
Some of the names that we have possibly been hearing may be considered as moderate by the media but we all know different.
For instance, Susan Rice is being touted for a top position, but the role she played in the Russian collusion allegations should be enough to disqualify her, but that does not appear to be the case.
Ironically, it is the very Republicans that were most at risk in the 2020 election that are now selling out in favor of Joe Biden.
Senator Mitt Romney (R-UT) stated that a “president ought to be able to pick his or her Cabinet barring someone who is out of the mainstream of either party.”
Senator Susan Collins (R-ME) said that Biden should have “great latitude” when choosing his cabinet.
Senator Lisa Murkowski stated, “He’s our president-elect. All presidents have a right to their Cabinet.
“Our job, our role is to make sure that he selects folks that are … within the mainstream. And are good, qualified credible candidates. And if he does that, sure, I am going to work with him.”
So, as it turns out, Democrats do not appear to need to win those two seats in Georgia because Biden’s old buddies in the Senate appear to be ready to take care of him.
