The Anti-Trump Lincoln Project is about to get hit yet again with more controversy.
Reports are breaking that members of the project knew about John Weaver’s indiscretions long before we have been led to believe.
When Did They Know?
The date of when members knew about these issues is very important because to this point, every member has denied knowing what was going on with Weaver.
Considering he was allegedly offering employment in exchange for sex, this is a pretty big deal for that organization.
When Journalist Ryan James Girdusky initially brought these concerns to light, they were completely dismissed.
Now that the New York Times has investigated and come to the same conclusions as Girdusky, however, this story finally has some bite to it.
Co-founder Steve Schmidt recently stated, “There was no awareness or insinuations of any type of inappropriate behavior when we became aware of the chatter at the time.”
The reports, however, say otherwise.
According to the NYT report, the publication spoke to 25 individuals that received harassing calls from Weaver.
At least one of those individuals brought Weaver’s alleged conduct to the attention of Lincoln Project members last June, which far precedes the time any members say they actually knew anything about Weaver’s conduct.
