Carl Bernstein is no friend to President Trump… this is something we all know.
However, now he is also apparently betraying the truth of almost two dozen Republicans IF we are to believe his most recent statements.
No Love for Trump
Bernstein blew up the Twitterverse late Sunday night by outing almost two dozen Republicans he says have spoken ill of Trump.
I'm not violating any pledge of journalistic confidentially in reporting this: 21 Republican Sens–in convos w/ colleagues, staff members, lobbyists, W. House aides–have repeatedly expressed extreme contempt for Trump & his fitness to be POTUS. (1/3)

With few exceptions, their craven public silence has helped enable Trump’s most grievous conduct—including undermining and discrediting the US the electoral system.

His goal, of course, is to push these people out of office due to their public loyalty to Trump while hinting privately they did not believe he was fit to be president.
The most telling name of all on that list is Senator Rick Scott (R-FL), someone who has openly and publicly supported Trump throughout his presidency as well as enjoying the support Trump has put behind him.
The Washington Examiner reported that it reached out to everyone on that list and has already received pushback from several of them.
Senator Braun (R-IN) stated, “This is more false news from a CNN political analyst, as I was one of President Trump’s top defenders during impeachment and strongly support his legal efforts to ensure that every legal vote is counted.”
The office of Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) replied, “This is dumb and doesn’t warrant a real response. Needless to say, Carl Bernstein has no idea what he’s talking about.”
