Some Trump supporters no doubt knew their efforts would get them in trouble, but they did it anyway.
After several Trump supporters hung a Trump 2020 banner from the upper level at the Baltimore Orioles game, police showed up to make them take their banner down and kick them out of the stadium.
Take It Down
Baltimore is already a liberal town, so Trump calling the place “rat and rodent infested” did not win him any love from residents drinking the liberal Kool-Aid.
When the banner went down, you can hear several fans at the stadium chant, “Take it down.”
When the police officer showed up and booted the Trump supporters, the officer got a round of applause and the Trump supporter got a round of boos.
Local Reaction
Trump’s comments not only drew the ire of Democrats, one of the local sports figures in town defended the city as well.
Ravens coach John Harbaugh stated, “Well I can tell you this, my wife, my daughter, and me, we love Baltimore.
“And more than Baltimore, we love the people in Baltimore.
“We love the people in Baltimore everywhere.
“Maybe it’s because the Baltimore people love the Ravens so much, but we’ve felt nothing but love here for the last 11 years.”
I can guarantee you Harbaugh is not living in one of the neighborhoods to which Trump was referring!
Baseball star Johnny Damon did not exactly express the same opinion as Harbaugh.
Damon stated, “Baltimore was one of the best places to visit when I broke into the league in ’95.
“And, at the end, we didn’t really, like, enjoy going back.
“Towards the end, it started getting a little scarier.”
Liberals and Democrats need to get past who Trump made the comment to and focus on what he said.
Trump was not misleading people about the corruption and condition of some of Baltimore’s neighborhoods.
Just because Rep. Cummings is black does not give him a free pass.
He needs to be held accountable for the corruption and condition of his city, it’s as simple as that.
