The chaos in Venezuela took a horrifying turn today as President Nicolas Maduro turned his security forces loose on the country’s citizens.
In what can only be described as disturbing, military vehicles can be seen accelerating into crowds of citizens, running them over with purpose…
Putting Down a Coup
As video of the assault started to blow up on social media, President Maduro tried to justify his attacks by calling the protestors an organized coup against the government by military forces supporting opposition leader Juan Guaido.
However, the video clearly shows unarmed citizens just blatantly being run over my military-style vehicles.
Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) was among the first of our politicians to denounce the actions by Maduro and demanding accountability…
The video of the armored GNB vehicle ramming into a crowd in #Caracas was just broadcast live on @CNN for the entire world to see.
Military & security leaders must realize they are & will be held responsible for this.

Guaido has encouraged citizens of the country to stand with military forces that are now loyal to him rather than the oppressive regime of Maduro.
He stated, “The armed forces have taken the right decision. With the support of the Venezuelan people and the backing of our constitution, they are on the right side of history.”
Guaido added, “The moment is now.”
Supporting the Revolution
President Trump has been behind Guaido from the very outset while both Russia and China and have put their support behind Guaido.
As these images continued to pour over cable TV, Vice President Mike Pence offered his support via Twitter…
To @jguaido, the National Assembly and all the freedom-loving people of Venezuela who are taking to the streets today in #operacionlibertad—Estamos con ustedes! We are with you! America will stand with you until freedom & democracy are restored. Vayan con dios! #FreeVenezuela

The Secretary of State also tweeted out support for Guaido, who has been very active himself today, updating the entire world as this revolution is taking place…
Today interim President Juan Guaido announced start of Operación Libertad. The U.S. Government fully supports the Venezuelan people in their quest for freedom and democracy. Democracy cannot be defeated. #EstamosUnidosVE

This appears to be only the beginning, though, as Guaido plans on ramping up protests on Wednesday.
While Guaido plans on putting everything on the line on Wednesday, Socialist Party Chief Diosdada Cabello is asking those still supporting Maduro to come to the presidential palace to help defend Maduro against the uprising.
We have yet to see a formal statement by Putin on this other than he is keeping an eye on “a coup attempt in that country.”
Bolivian President Evo Morales is calling for Latin America “to condemn the coup d’etat in Venezuela and keep the violence from claiming innocent lives.”
Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez is also supporting Maduro and blaming the United States for “aggressions against Peace.”
While all this is happening and Republicans throughout the party to express their concern for the people of Venezuela, Democrats, including Hillary Clinton and the presidential candidates, are eerily silent on the matter.
President Trump, however, has responded by offering his support to the people of Venezuela as well as threatening more sanctions on Cuba if they do not cease military operations…
I am monitoring the situation in Venezuela very closely. The United States stands with the People of Venezuela and their Freedom!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) April 30, 2019
….embargo, together with highest-level sanctions, will be placed on the island of Cuba. Hopefully, all Cuban soldiers will promptly and peacefully return to their island!

This situation is quickly evolving and Wednesday only promises more violence.
We will keep our eyes on this as it is still a developing story.
