President Donald Trump has been supporting the vaccine from Day One, which makes Fauci’s announcement this weekend a bit surprising.
Fauci was on Fox News discussing the vaccine with Chris Wallace when he stated that Trump urging supporters to take the vaccine would be “very helpful.”
Take the Shot
This interview seemed like a veiled shot by Fauci to blame Trump for people not taking the vaccine.
On Trump offering encouragement to people to take the vaccine, Fauci stated, “It would be very helpful for the effort for that to happen.
“I’m very surprised by the number of Republicans who say they won’t get vaccinated.
“I think it would make all the difference in the world” if the former president encouraged people to take the vaccine.
Fauci continued, “He’s a widely popular person among Republicans.
“I just don’t get it, Chris, why they don’t want to get vaccinated.”
That is once again a broad stroke statement, as there are plenty of people on both sides of the aisle that are wary about getting the vaccine.
Why didn’t Fauci take a shot at Farrakhan who has openly told his followers not to take the vaccine?
There is also an understandable concern for the long-term effects of the vaccine, so some people will be hesitant until they know more about it.
This did not have to be a partisan attack by Fauci, but that is what it amounted to.
If he can provide some data that factually shows Trump supporters are among the largest group of those declining to take the vaccine, I would love to see it.
Otherwise, it is just more guesswork on the part of Fauci, something the scientist seems to be doing a lot of lately.
