Fox News’ Chris Wallace is back on the attack against the Trump administration.
This time, Wallace is going after Barr, accusing William Barr of protecting the President rather than doing his duties as the Attorney General.
Wallace Gets It Wrong
The odd thing here is that Wallace is actually conceding that something may have been hokey regarding the origins of the investigation.
Yet, somehow, he does not expect Barr to travel down that path.
Wallace stated, “What really comes to me most of all is that for two years, Donald Trump sat there and said I don’t have an attorney general, I don’t have somebody out there looking for and protecting my interests.
“He clearly has that now with Bill Barr.
“Not saying that Barr isn’t right in everything he says, but he clearly is protecting the President and advocating his point of view on a lot of these issues.”
Doing His Job
Where Wallace claims Barr is protecting the President, we say he is just doing his job.
Jeff Sessions was obviously worried about perceptions.
Because of those concerns, he did not want to do anything that would give fodder to Democrats that he was protecting Trump in any way, shape, or form.
In the process, Sessions just blatantly overlooked possible wrongdoings by people like James Comey.
Barr does not have those concerns.
If something improper happened, he wants to find out about it.
With the Mueller report having exonerated Trump on collusion, is it now just common sense to see if the actual allegations initially made were based on truth or some concocted scheme to take Trump down.
Barr is not looking out for the welfare of the President but rather that of the American people.
If government officials were acting improperly to take down Trump, we have a right to know about it and hold them accountable.
Thankfully, Barr is willing to take negative publicity in order to get to the actual facts of the case.
